For the past couple of years, malicious rumors have been circulating the Internet regarding the so-called scam operations at Crescent Processing Company. Some of these rumors are targeted towards our prospective merchants while others are directed to individuals who are interested in working for us as Independent Sales Agents or ISAs.
The reason why someone would spread such nasty hearsay is beyond our comprehension, especially since we have been working very hard and exerting all possible efforts to provide quality service to our merchants and to give our agents the fair compensation that they deserve. Here are some of those rumors and the real facts behind them.
Rumor: Crescent charges hidden fees from merchants.
Fact: All fees are explicitly stated before any transaction is finalized.
In fact, the fees are explained to the merchant not just once, not twice, but three times before signing of the contract. The first is in the contract itself, which according to law should include all applicable fees and rates. We also call our prospective merchants by phone and discuss with them further the details of these rates and fees in a recorded conversation. Finally, upon signing of the contract, the sales representative will leave a copy of our Terms and Conditions with the merchant, which again, contains a detailed list of all our rates and fees.
Rumor: Crescent charges for use of “free” equipment.
Fact: Merchants are allowed to use processing equipment completely free of charge.
When a merchant hires Crescent to take care of their credit card processing requirements, they receive the Crescent Diamond, a state-of-the-art piece of equipment used in credit card transactions. As advertised, the use of this equipment is free of charge. The way Crescent sees it, if they continue to give the merchants excellent service, their business relationship will prosper and over time, the cost of leasing will become a negligible expense on the part of the company.
Rumor: Crescent provides useless leads to their sales agents.
Fact: The leads that Crescent gives their agents are well-researched and have a high probability of being converted into sales.
Upon being hired by Crescent Processing Company, each Independent Sales Agent is given a list of prospective leads that they can follow up and convert into sales. Every single one of these leads has been researched thoroughly and will definitely not be a waste of time for the agent. Besides, a waste of the ISA’s time and efforts will also be a waste for the company, and there is no reason whatsoever why Crescent would want to do that.
Rumor: Crescent follows a different system for awarding sales commissions than is in what is being advertised.
Fact: The commissions that sales agents receive are exactly what is agreed on before they are hired by the company.
Again, there is no reason why the Crescent Processing Company would go back on its word regarding sales commissions for their Independent Sales Agents. Doing this would only ruin the reputation that Crescent management has diligently built over the years.
